Our place: pattern in our local environment
Community Art Outcome – Workshop with Inala Art Gallery Group.
Brisbane City Council Project for Inala, Queensland, 2019.
In collaboration with CREATIVEMOVE
In conjunction with the Biota Street Village Precinct Project, Inala Art Gallery participants worked with Mandy Ridley to create designs based upon their observation of the local environment around the Inala Art Gallery. These were further developed to create striking repeat patterns which were combined to create bunting to decorate the streetscape for the opening event of the Biota Street Village Precinct Project.
The variety of designs produced reflect the diversity and energy of the Inala community.

Creating the Our Place bunting
Darra-based Myla Graphics worked with Mandy to devise a solution to present the workshop outcomes in a way that would enhance the Biota Street opening celebrations and demonstrate the talents of the local art gallery group.
Printed on Tyvek, a durable and recycleable material, and finished using biodegradable cotton and hemp woven tape, the artwork bunting was double-sided and decorated the shopfronts.
